Working on my me 262 v1 and v2/3 was researching more photos and drawings found a six bladed turbo prop version lol, looks kewl I have like five or six extra kits so I'm thinking it would be a fun thing to try. I also found this me P 65 it's says was the first 262 the fuselage looks like the 262 but the wings vertical and horizontal stabilizers look similar to the 109. Now I know the 262 turbo prop is a kit bash but the article doesn't say if the P65 is a models bash or what and I can't find anything on the internet about a Me P65 so I have to guess its not real I am thinking I have several 109 s and 262 so if I get bored maybe, but I still want to know if it pure fantasy or what or just a paper concept.

Oh, it certainly was real, it was the original concept that became the Me-262.

As you can see, the vertical stabilizer looks nothing like the 109's.

Great info wonder why I had trouble finding info on the web, the fuselage looks a bit more sleek too than the eventual 262. Thanks for your time and info. Was hoping to make more progress on my kits but my nephew got me paint thinner/mineral spirits not lacquer thinner so I'm not able to glue anything yet but doing some prep work like cutting pieces and shaping fillers. Got one wing for my He111 for early cut the leading edge off added a spacer and reshaped the wing to give it that elliptical look. Now working on the other wing. The fuselage looks like it's pretty much the same till you get to the cockpit section I think building the stepped windscreen should be ok but doing the new glazed nose for the early bomber is going to be a bit of a challenge but the solid nose for the transport or early passenger should be doable. Filling in the roof machine gun position and the gondola shouldn't be a problem either. Getting the right sized decals for the passenger lettering shouldn't be too bad there's lots of lettering decals just have to find a sheet that has a suitable size and should be able to find decals for one of the older squadrons that used the early 111s like the b, c or p. Anyway I think it add to my collection having the early variants maybe try to make the Spanish civil war version they already make a 109 with the Spanish markings. Now the bombers I read many were crewed by Germans were the 109s piloted by Germans as well? Did the Germans crew the bombers to give there men battle experience and get a true battle evaluation of the he111. Kind of like the soviets flying for the North Koreans. The sabers were not that much better but they say our better training and gun system far out classed the soviets that we racked a ten to one victory really seems out balanced. But we were always ahead in the electronics and we had the best training back then and try to push our pilots to the extreme even now. We've always believed advanced training was the key to higher results. However our hard training had lead to more pilots killed in training than in combat. That seems a bit crazy to lose so many in just training accidents but it has resulted in our having better performing pilots in Korea and in Vietnam. I read we have about 150 to 200 non combatant deaths many in training suituations like that unfortunate incident off Catalina that the investigation board said never should have happened the craft wasn't even sea worthy and had other maintenance issues the stupid escape hatch failed from what I read the seaman that tried to open the hatch reported the handles broke and he couldn't get the door open. It's amazing that even half got out. I thought they are suppose to have escape breathers on board. Did they have them did they have time to get them on. Maybe not enough time to get them on in time as they say it sank in a few minutes so sad quite a few were from southern cal and a number of high schools here held special services in remembrance of the seamen and marines who perished. I also read that the marines have been trying to get a replacement for those AAVs that they are getting really old and they wanted something a bit more faster. Maybe something like that Chinese vehicle that say it moves well I'm land and its speed on water is faster than anything we have. Lol watched a demonstration vid that got out the first prototype got in the water was moving pretty good then just went under hope the crew got out. They said it was the prototype and had lots of bugs but supposedly got them worked out. I think Taiwan is going to be in a bit of trouble if the Chinese attack with thousands of those small fairly fast but a coastline with layers of missile batteries and rapid fire small and large cannons is going to make it costly for mainland China plus I don't think they really want to fight a war where they could have a huge casualties. I should read what is India doing about tanks now since that border clash with China I would think that voided all military deals from China. Like India was buying tanks planes and missile systems from China read they bought some new aircraft from the Russians and we're looking at some of our aircraft. Maybe we'll make a deal on some of our older Abrams as we have sold some to other countries, lol resell those Abrams we never delivered to Egypt read the last hundred Abrams we were suppose to deliver was held up because the civil war was raging in Egypt. And they were already paid for. Like the shah of Iran had prepaid the uk for two thousand new tanks that became the challenger. The ayatollah asked for the tanks or return of the money the uk kept the tanks and never refunded the money. And now they say they have mothballed their tank forces. I don't know what their going to do in a war all our most recent wars have been decided based on who had the best tank force. I also think the marines giving up their tanks is crazy. Like has the government cut their budget so much that they can't afford to keep their tanks or what. Now the air force is taking bids for another aircraft to replace the f16 saying the f35 is too expensive and they need a cheaper mainstay craft. The idiots naked the place expensive with all the advance electronics new skin engines what a bunch of idiots. So why not just revamp the f16 and f15 make them more stealthy and upgrade them with newer engines and electronics instead of wasting millions or billions on another RnD on another new over engineered over budget plane. They always say they need this but end up throwing in everything and throw the whole thing out of whack. I think maybe a cross of the Israeli and Japanese F16 would be good or a wider lift fuselage and longer deeper wings a larger engine bay for a more powerful engine. Lol might be fun to kit bash something like that I bought like close to three dozen f16s when they had a huge sale on them for like two to three bucks each and I bought three to four of every boxing they had back then. Air Force and air guard squadrons and like a bunch of Israeli as I really liked their comoflage for the f16 back then. Also think I can use the decals on my A4 and F4. Oops got a bit on

Is Taiwan independent? I think I heard in the morning news the US president told Taiwan to stay neutral i.e. not declare itself independent. China considers they are a part of China that is troublesome. The presidents of China and the US had a meeting by screen discussion yesterday. Biden said his politics remain " One China politics". Chinese leader considers the Taiwan problems are China's inside problems.

Biden is continuing what was always confusing policies One China & Taiwan Defense. It's been going on for decades, but is now coming to a head, because China is now an international super power, rather than a local one. This matter will get worse before it gets better.

To add...The US cannot simply give in to China, neither can it throw Taiwan under the bus. Either event would send the wrong kind of message to opponents & allies alike. With China now much more powerful than it has ever been, the US is going to have to decide which way to jump. As it can no longer sit idly by on the fence. Unfortunately for the US, no matter which way it jumps, the outcome will be unpleasant.

Probably because Google does not really differentiate between P65 & P1065(which was their "official" ME-262 proposal). My P65 search turned up mostly P1065 items. Thankfully my personal library of books & PDFs is rather large.

From what I've read they have been declaring themselves independent but very few countries have acknowledged it most of the UN has not acknowledged them and most don't seem to want to step on China's toes. Funny they say it was actually something about making them independent back after wwii but again politics mixed in the issue and they were giving to thr Chinese I think it was occupied by some country but then turned over to China as part of some agreement the same as Manchuria but they now say that was a mistake the star of Manchu was never part of China and the two had been fighting for centuries the first thing the Chinese did she it was turned over to them was send in an army slaughter hundreds of thousands of Manchus they were worse than the Japanese the surviving Manchus moved to the far north and still struggle. I think Taiwan has been acting separated for so long they should have world recognition as an independent country. Like they had separate trade agreements for decades have there own economy maintain themselves and a separate army. They've been building their own ships hybrid designs based on US ships. Still don't get why they took the m60s and replaced the m60 turret with the m48, basically a m60 chassi with a m48 turret. The m60 turret was larger had more storage and better armor brave tiger I think they call this overhauled tank. They even bought many old decommissioned tanks, or just turrets and chassis from other countries to build up their numbers along with the K1and K2 tanks that are newer they said they were worried the Chinese might try to invade and force them to rejoin and the rebuilds were faster to get ready for action their just a stop gap till they get enough new tanks built. Since we seem to be storing a lot of tanks these days to save money maybe the pentagon should see if they want to buy some like some of those kits tanks we never delivered to Egypt may as well do something with them I don't know if relations will ever get back like they were.

That's really kewl and been lots of help again thanks for your time and info. Do you go to estate sales to look for more books I did that for a bit I found a first printing of encyclopedia of German tanks got it fo 25 and a Pershing m26 book for about the same the books were listing for about a hundred in collector stores back then I made like it wasn't really a deal. I'm saving the original hard back for my nephew and got a paper back reprint for like 20 bucks for myself.
