Ruins of Fannie Bay Anti-Aircraft Site, part of the air defences of Darwin during the Second World War. Commenced in September 1941, this site was partly constructed by a section of the 2/4th Pioneer Battalion AF and the four 3.7" guns installed by the 14th Heavy Anti-Aircraft battery (HAA Bty) personnel. The was also part of the east point gold course and its northerly location made it one of the first units to engage the enemy during the frequent air raids.
Great stuff- is that an access hatch on the edge of #4 pit, or just rubble? Another unusual layout for the CP too.
