The war-winning scale models

Was watching a programme called "The Thirties in colour" earlier, and it mentioned this British toy company.
Although they specialised in model railways, in WW1 their scale ship models were so accurate that the Admiralty used them for training.
In WW2, they did the same with model vehicles etc, but also built scale models of Bailey bridges and Mulberry.

I know Bassett-Lowke from their 1/1200 line of ship models. Never knew they built larger training models.

 

Some of their stuff commands high prices these days at auctions. They also made railway sets.
