    1jma.dk was the URI
1jma.net was where their forums was located for a while

Does anyone have a contact from the now gone 1.JmA (Jagdmoroner Abteilung) website? It's probably a lost cause at this stage, but worth a try.

I just read an archive from the site and it was great. So many great articles, and their forum was top notch. Their Penguin theme/logo also struck a chord with me.

A crying shame the site went dark, and the data is probably gone into the ether, but if there is a chance to revive even the articles, I'm going to try and do so.

If anyone has contact info for the admins, please let me know. My email is in my signature.

I really enjoyed the site for the longest time. Then didn't check in for a while and heard it was gone. Hope you can recover at least part of it.

It was great site lwd. Did you ever have contact info for either of the two admins? Even if the data is gone for good, I'd like to host their articles and other content, most of which I've archived on local hard drives. I much rather do this with their consent.

Lots of good info on wayback, but even that is in danger of disappearing, everything is. Over time, the wayback archive do degrade some, and many archives are partial from the start. In addition, if wayback does archive a forum at all, which is rare due to volume, the archive is usually only a fraction of the site. I'm hoping the original 1.JmA forum database is archived somewhere and can be replaced online, even if only as an archive.

Only the 1.JmA admins would know this, which is why I'm on the hunt.

Could you possibly get some contacts for them out of the wayback archive?

I've crawled wayback for any & all scraps of info. In fact I have a complete copy of the 1JmA website aside from their forums. Unfortunately all the contacts on the site use the @1jma.dk or @1jma.net domains and these are now down. I've contacted Rogues from these WWII Forums who were also members of 1JmA and asked them for any assistance as well. I've tried a few other open source searches without success. 1JmA had two admins, and in my research I'm fairly certain I've identified one of them. All efforts to contact this person via emails and facebook generated no results. I've still got a few more avenues to pursue, and I'm always hopeful for a positive result.

In my previous efforts to restore websites, I've found that requests will often go unanswered for long periods of time, and then suddenly a email will arrive months later. Hopefully that's the case here.

Just had a thought. Unca Walt may know a name or two. He left the forum because of a disagreement with the admins but could still be willing to help. He wrote a book that I was able to find on Amazon:

    Here's his Amazon page:

He might even be willing to join us. He could be a bit prickly at times but had his head screwed on right IMO.

Am I translating this correctly: 1. Jagd moroner Abteilung = 1st. Moron hunter Company?

Sounds right. Thinking some more on it one of the admins is a European. Perhaps from Demark. His name might be Friedrich or something similar but I'm not good with names.

Cheers and thanks for all the help. A few things to respond to here when I get home. Currently riding a train with the family.

I did manage to check our member rolls, and noticed an Unca Walt is a member here, but never posted:

I'll ping Friis and see what we can restore/rebuild anything. I always appreciated the content there.

It may have just been me, but our mutual reverence for the penguins always made me view them as comrades in arms to this site.

I used to visit there fairly often. There was much to admire & emulate about the culture of that discussion board.
