    Bobby (aka A-58) checks in yet again from his travels, this time from Camp Blanding Museum in Florida. I have family that lives very close to this museum, I'll have to make a point to stop by next time I visit.

    It is built on the shores of a naturally occurring, almost perfectly circular Lake Kinsley.. Ten percent of all US infantry divisions trained at Camp Blanding during the war.

    I've hunted deer at Camp Blanding but I haven't been to the museum yet. Thanks for letting us know about it.

    I asked the curator (a retired Navy guy) about why that lake is so round. He said that it was a big sink hole that filled in with water. I then asked why he, a retired Navy man decided to be a curator at a museum at Army establishment. He said that he's from the area originally and liked the work. He sure was knowledgeable about everything in the place and the nearby area. My buddy and I dropped $20 each in the donation box when he wasn't looking. We bought some items from the gift store as well. There was no admission to the museum which was housed in a WW2 era wooden barracks. If anyone travels through the area and has a couple of hours to spare and if the old lady doesn't object too much, I highly recommend swinging by. It's a very well stocked and organized small place. Incredibly interesting as well.
