In the first two photo's he's the one wearing the helmet. Also I was wondering if anyone has ever seen the markings that are on his helmet anywhere? I know it's hard to see but instead of MP it has a big number 7 on it.
From what my father told me somewhere in Germany. Sadly the photos are pasted into a photo album and can't be removed without damaging them. Not sure I hope it became some kind of mascot.
You can use your cell phone to make copies of pictures. I used mine to copy my thumb print. It worked.
He does not appear to be armed in the photos with snow and that tends to make me think the photos were made in the winter of 45-46. Were it winter of 44-45 and he was in (western) Germany, he would have most definitely been armed.
