Holy Crap! Rich is actually asking a question!

So . . . looking at some USAAF folks in Hawaii in mid 1942. . . I have ranks, initials, and last names. Sure would be nice to have at least first names. Can anyone help out?

    2LT E E Barr
    CPT I C Connor
    1LT D F Harbour
    2LT J J Hood
    2LT T C Johnson
    2LT J W Jump
    1LT L J Nagy
    1LT W F Nolan
    1LT J R Sawyer
    2LT E E Straton

All these gents were fighter pilots, I suspect mostly from the 45th FS, who at various points in July and August of 1942 were TDY to the USN's VF-3 at NAS Maui where they checked out in F4Fs.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

Found their attachments, but can’t find anything more to confirm first names etc (and more names on these lists)

Yeah, got all that from collected VF-3 war diaries already - probably from your same source. And even others whose first, and in a couple of middle names, for others (note for examples, Gabreski and Taylor, well known USAAF pilots), . The list above are the ones for which additional information is desired.

I keep a running list of USN aviators from the WW2 era, up to about 50,000 now with DORs, SNs and known assignments as I can gather .. . over 180,000 entries. Just hoping someone indulges, or knows someone who indulges, in a similar frivolity for the USAAF.
