    Nothing identifying the location is written or stamped on the reverse so unfortunately that is unknown

    someone one a different site said they think the guy on the right is Erich von Manstein. Sorta has a resemblance but idk what the chances of it being him are.

    Looks like the officer in the center was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class. His riding breeches were issued as part of the uniform, not necessarily a horseman.

    I believe the breeches fell out of favour as the war progressed. Lou is right as to the breeches not being indicative of a cavalry officer.

    If I had to guess, I'd say that photo dates from 1940-42.

    That officer on the right does resemble Erich von Manstein, but I am confident that it is not him. Stature/posture does not match anything I've seen from von Manstein.
