The 16th and 49th Antitank Batteries each had two troops with 6-pdr (towed by FAT until they were replaced with half-tracks in mid 1944) and one troop of 17-pdr ATG with Crusader Armoured Gun Tower.
The 82nd and 98th Batteries each had three troops of M10 (3"), which were replaced in October 1944 with Archer 17-pdr.

Thanks for this. The soldier that i am researching was in italy by August 1944 with the 16th battery. How many towed guns? What size and how many tracked vehicles with mounted guns in the battery? And what type
    Thanks
    John

Hi, just realized I mixed up 4th and 5th Division. The FAT were replaced with half tracks in Italy, probably in May, not in France.

Each Troop had four guns and prime movers, which were probably Half Tracks M3. None of the guns were "mounted", they were all towed 6-pdr.

Battery = 3 Troops each with 4 Guns = 12 Guns in the Battery

Sorry, I just saw this and would have answered sooner. The only Nominal Roll that I have was done in 1940. Here’s a link to it on line, you can check to see if his name is on here?

Your welcome. If you care to share his name, I’ll take a look thru the War Dairies and see if I can spot it. You can PM me if you’d like to keep it private

Thanks so much for your research
