    "MacArthur
This is my scratchbuild I.N.S.S. MacArthur, a spacecraft from the Larry Niven / Jerry Pournelle book "The Mote in God's Eye". It was signed by Larry Niven when I brought it to a convention."

Not ME, btw. Just a Pinterest posting I liked. I read "MOTE" when it came out in paperback. Bought it at the Navy Exchange in Sigonella, Sicily. I was living on the slopes of Mt. Etna at the time.

I'm not sure that was the "actual" design, based on the fact that the tower was supposed to retract into the main hull.
