Just got these from a buddy from grade/high school that I hadn't seen in over forty years ! Hopefully I'll get them put together by Spring.

Best to you. I never built the B-17 but I have built that Revell 1:48 scale F4U-4 Corsair two times. I wish you luck attaching the wings to the wing roots. I am no master modeler but no amateur either. I had to swear quite a bit on that one. Personally, if you want to build a nice non swearing Corsair, go with 1:48 scale Tamiya. Perhaps I am leading you astray. Time will tell, right? Here is my Tamiya……it’s done in Krylon Midnight Ink…. IMG_2775.jpeg IMG_1798.jpeg

I don't remember ever painting my models , just gluing and hanging from the ceiling. But then I was 10/12 years old. Now that I've reach the "Golden Years" I think I can take my time and pay attention to some detail. We'll see.

Okie-doke, good old Dennis got a bargain at the auction now I'm in a quandary as to where to get the proper colors of paint. Looking over the instructions on the F4U I suddenly remembered painting my squadron of planes back in 1960's. Testors ! Any suggestions on finding the 12 colors for the F4U-4 ?
I've decided it's going to be a long journey but then again that's how I roll. May take me months/years but I'll eventually did it done. Just ask my wife.

Yeah I have. Its the Bane of Humanity ! So many pictures but so few explanations. Description is lacking in most.
Simply want a few colors not a smorgasbord of "Well these might work".
But I've got a few dozen leftover paint pots from my excursion of paint-by-number artistic experience during Covid. So might give those a go. Mix and blend.

I don’t know where you are, but Hobby Lobby is my choice. They have every Testors color in small bottles as well as a rather good selection of modeling spray paints. In all my years of modeling, I never acquired an air brush. I just learned the proper distance to hold the spray cans to avoid runs. Sometimes I used my own paint scheme. Then again, you could always order Tamiya paints from Amazon I guess. I always thought that Testors white and yellow were very hard to get to cover. The bottles need to be shaken vigorously before using.

Yes Half Track...I stuffed both my wrists shaking tiny silver paint pots when painting my 1/72 B-17! At least 3 coats...25 years later my wrists still aren't the same...So be careful BIAK! - I'd use a spay can rather than hand paint...

Don't laugh! I'm still a rookie at this stuff. Now I'm heading out the door : got a date with a Miss Mitchell.
    Photos to follow. Hopefully.
