If AFL had as much "standing around time" as American football there would be riots, yes?

Nice early pic (1884) of Port Adelaide
    - The first team to play with the black and white ‘prison bars’ guernsy…The idea later stolen and brought back to Melnourne where Collingwood adopted it in the VFL…When Port finally joined the AFL 1997 (I attended their first game) they had to change their jumper colours as there was already a AFL with the prison bars…A Shit fight there, but Collingwood is probably the most influential team in the Comp and kept their c9lours and Port had to change from the Magpies to the ‘Power’ ….pretty lame if you ask me hehe…

Only two Aussie strips I remember are the black and white vertical stripes, and the amber and burgundy vertical striped ones.

Good point…Something that Americans bring up is that AFL is bam bam bam…the ball is always moving. There are rules that punish time wasting, and rules that ensure that stoppages are super short. Including not stopping the game for most injuries except the worst kind where the player could be in danger.

    In fact there is…
Faking injury, or being hit too high will either be ignored or a free kick given to the opposition…We stamp that shit out.
There’s a saying in Australia, In soccer they pretend to be injured, in Aussie Rules, they pretend they aren’t.

Like in a Marvel movie: "If you get injured, shake it off. If you get killed ... walk it off." :p

Walk it off or be pulled off…A trainer will run on, an arguement will ensue…Then a dip of the head as the player is jogged off the field…

Tasmania Devils launched as 19th AFL club (msn.com)
Historical whenever a new team enters the AFL - Tasmania is Aussie Rules mad and has played the game for 150 years...So it's "FINALLY" going to the big league.
The AFL has given the licence under the condition Hobart builds a billion dollar stadium...Hobart is doing it tough at the moment, so not all Hobartians are on board.

    The run on strip:

The guernsey is traditional (State team guernsey) - But an old design and a little bland..."Too literal" i've heard it called.

    And the Logo:

Next in line is the Territory, our turn to push and push to get the "Territory Thunder" included...

In the game this Monday (King's birthday - & "The Big Freeze" Round) Between Collingwood and Melbourne Demons - Christian Petracca, Melbourne Mid-fielder, received a painful injury with Collingwood's Darcy Moore giving Peteracca a flying knee in the ribs.

Brave Petracca subbed after nasty rib injury (afl.com.au) - Video of incidient

Now Christian Petracca is a key player for Melbourne who were doing it tough against the Pies...This is a guy who played with two fractures to his leg in last year's semi finals...So if he goes down you know hes hurt...He looked like he was in immense pain and could barely walk off the field...
You can imagine EVERYONES surprise when he fronted up for the second quarter! What was he thinking? He managed to get the ball but just hand pass it rather than kick. I predicted he would not be in the second half due to Collingwood knowing his injury and they would target him.
The second half saw him on a stretcher heading for the Hospital...They scanned him and found four broken ribs, a lacerated spleen and a small puncture to his lung in the incident.
This man is made of steel.

Update - Petracca may have to have his spleen removed...will be out for 10-12 weeks...Not likely to see him again till next year...Massive blow to the Melbourne Demons (also known as the Dees).
