Hello, does anyone know of a site where i can find out basic information on the above in North Africa, Sicily , Italy and Normandy up until end August 1944. Just an outline needed really, (i've had a quick look at wiki but wondered if there was anywhere else). thank you

There are some real experts here and I suspect they will chime in fairly soon. That should get you started though. You might also google "army green books" some are on hyperwar but not all . They contain a lot of campaign specific info but may not delve down to the regiment.

You might want to pick up the A History of the Second Armored Division reprinted by Battery Press in Nashville. It traces the movement of the Combat Command Teams and their respective regiments. Sydney Hinds was the colonel commanding of the 41st Armored Infantry Regiment.
