Hey ya’ll! My name is Micki, I’m 30 years old out of South Carolina. Hobbies include painting, reading & having a glass of wine on my porch. My goal is to supplement research my dad has gathered on his father. A lot of documents were lost in his last move. My grandfather’s name was Harry Andrew Nock. He was a first lieutenant in the 406th, 513th Fighter Squadron. KIA 7/4/44 in Avranches, France. I’ve been cataloging all of our memorabilia and would love to post pictures and documents here eventually. I am doing everything I can to make sure his story isn’t lost to time. So much of what my family does know is thanks to a wonderful French historian named Remy Chuinard, who witnessed Harry’s battle and many others from his family farm. He got in contact with my grandfather’s squadron and my dad. He visited the US & brought my dad pieces of Harry’s plane, we have a video recording of the meeting. I have been reading his book, “A Stormy Sky Over Normandy” and happened upon this forum while researching. Happy to be here!
A mildly belated welcome to the WW2 Forums Micki, glad to have you. I sounds like you have a lot to share, I'd love to see that video you mentioned. Is it online somewhere?
