I am currently transcribing maintenance and repair records for the USS Jason repair ship. It lists all the ships they have in line for repairs/maintenance as well as what they're working on. In line is the CKSG. It is written daily and that has been written a number of times, so it is not a typo. Google's AI unhelpfully told me it was a typo for a carrier group, which it obviously is not. My husband is a Naval war veteren, retired and he's never heard of it. I'm just stumped. It's on several pages, but the one I am transcribing now is located here (for free): https://catalog.archives.gov/id/77558612?objectPage=4 Thanks for any help!

Ohhh! Thank you so very much! I'll give them a call. Is the Navy Programs and Current Navy Issues a department I need to ask for? Or do I just ask whomever answers?
No, it won't be a group. These are individual ships that are being repaired and they're listed by their names or numbers. So the whole group wouldn't be in line for repairs, only the one vessel. Unless, the carrier itself is getting serviced. Then it would be the carrier's name or number. Thanks though for trying. I really am stumped. I want to add the actual name of whatever it is to the transcription so people looking for it can find it.
I would just say why you are ringing and ask if you can get an answer by email or if you can be put through to someone to ask. - You'd probably be surprised by how helpful they will be. (Once you get past the call centre!)
