Been watching episodes of "Firefly", running in marathon-mode on Science channel here. On a side note, my wife got me a "Firefly" T-shirt for Christmas...yes....its a brown shirt (fans of the series, and the movie "Serenity", will appreciate the depth of that). Rock on!

Last night "The Sound of Music"....... What?... it does have a WW2 theme. Besides give and take is only fair.
Today, "SpongeBob Squarepants", "Kung Fu Panda" and a couple of rug-rats destroying the house!
In a few minutes: Bears versus Green Bay.
    Merry Christmas

I just finished watching my favourite holiday film: Where Eagles Dare. To those that say its not a Christmas theme, consider the following:

-Takes place in the Alps (the stereotypical Christmas landscape)
-Takes place in the winter (time of year Christmas takes place)
-It has nice warm fires (specifically blowing up the town, the car rollover and the cablecar demolition)

    ;)

For our Christmas viewing we watched both White Christmas and It's a Wonderful Life. Both are tangentially related to WW2, but the stories themselves are what draw you in. We've watched both for years.

Good movie, urqh. Many years since I saw it, though.

I love "Its A Wonderful Life" (can't stand most Christmas movies), but for some odd reason I couldn't find it playing whenever I looked this year. Weird. So I was forced to gnaw my own leg off to escape a bunch of middle-aged to elderly relatives (women) who commandeered the remote and landed squarely on the Lifetime channel. It was a steep price to pay, but worth it.

More like raccoon. They do stuff like that when they get caught in traps.

Just finished with Sink the Bismark. The bad part of it, for me, was them making Admiral Lutjens a Nazi, when he wasn't. My favorite scence was the exchange between the men on the Suffolk, when one of them says that for all the good their guns would do, they might as well through crumpets at her, and the second guy says, "I wish someone would throw crumpet at me.":eyebrows:

I recommend The Great escape and Joyeux Noel. Both very good war films.
