Babylon 5!!!!!! Just finished watching the end of Season 3 For those unfamiliar with the Series, here is a 2 and a half minute synopsis of the show. Tom Smith - Five Years - YouTube and the annotated lyrics to explain... Tom Smith Online - Lyrics: Five Years Annotated
Been watching episodes of "Firefly", running in marathon-mode on Science channel here. On a side note, my wife got me a "Firefly" T-shirt for Christmas...yes....its a brown shirt (fans of the series, and the movie "Serenity", will appreciate the depth of that). Rock on!
Last night "The Sound of Music"....... What?... it does have a WW2 theme. Besides give and take is only fair. Today, "SpongeBob Squarepants", "Kung Fu Panda" and a couple of rug-rats destroying the house! In a few minutes: Bears versus Green Bay. Merry Christmas
I just finished watching my favourite holiday film: Where Eagles Dare. To those that say its not a Christmas theme, consider the following: -Takes place in the Alps (the stereotypical Christmas landscape) -Takes place in the winter (time of year Christmas takes place) -It has nice warm fires (specifically blowing up the town, the car rollover and the cablecar demolition)
For our Christmas viewing we watched both White Christmas and It's a Wonderful Life. Both are tangentially related to WW2, but the stories themselves are what draw you in. We've watched both for years.
As normal....Watched that great ww2 related movie zulu...Look..its all 2nd world war related to us Brits......Hold em...my best line in movie...No snow but plenty of singing...
I love "Its A Wonderful Life" (can't stand most Christmas movies), but for some odd reason I couldn't find it playing whenever I looked this year. Weird. So I was forced to gnaw my own leg off to escape a bunch of middle-aged to elderly relatives (women) who commandeered the remote and landed squarely on the Lifetime channel. It was a steep price to pay, but worth it.
Just finished with Sink the Bismark. The bad part of it, for me, was them making Admiral Lutjens a Nazi, when he wasn't. My favorite scence was the exchange between the men on the Suffolk, when one of them says that for all the good their guns would do, they might as well through crumpets at her, and the second guy says, "I wish someone would throw crumpet at me.":eyebrows:
I have just finished watching Hogan's Heroes It's one of my favorates really. If only more people knew about it.
Started watching "The Desert Rats" with Richard Burton. It was late so taped the movie and will watched it the next rainy day we have.
My son bought me the P B S Box DVD set The Civil War When there isn't much intresting on TV I watch one of the dvd's it is one of the best war series there is i believe ...
What I will be watching, starting Tuesday next week (April 3'd) is the new Military Channel series: Which I believe is the Edge of War - the promotion for which sounds most interesting, and right up the alley of most posters here; and (new for me at least) the Secrets of World War II Military Channel :: TV Listings :: Daily Schedule
