    11th Field Hospital.

    The following men of Hospitalization Unit II, 11th Field Hospital, were awarded the Bronze Star "for meritorious service in direct support of combat operations from 15 August to 10 November 1944 in France," per General Orders 286, HQ, 45th Infantry Division, dated 2 December 1944:

    Joseph H. Barnard
    Albert W. Boland
    Edward Cohen
    William L. Davis
    Victor Lukasavi
    Joseph S. Yarsaw

    IMHO the men and women of the Medical Corps do not get enough credit for what they did. Cowdrey does an excellent job in describing the everyday heroics of front line medics in his "Fighting For Life," but what went on a little further back throughout the medical system certainly deserves greater recognition.
