To our dear serial posters. Nothing wrong with many postings a day, but quantity has to be combuned with QUALITY. Some of our newest members apparently need a reminder:

A ten point reminder aimed to keep the quality of our forum postings high .......

    1) Postings should be INFORMATIVE CONTRIBUTIONS. While we tolerate short postings to wish a new meber welcome , to thank someone and/ or to say we appreciate something: the quasi systematic use of short postings ONLY is not acceptable and pollutes the forum.
If a member goes to a thread to say "thank you" ten times a day (even by changing some of the words) or "nice" everytime there is new picture posted, keep away from those threads after a while. If you have said thanks once in a thread, there is no need to say it again , one hour later.

    2) Postings like "HEHE" "LOL" "HMMM" are not acceptable even though, they are tolerated, if used occasionnally by members who CONTIBUTE to the quality of our forum . If one word posts and abbreviations are the only way is the only way you have to contibute, then I suggest you join chat sites. You may take what you want from this forum, but from time to time ask youself the question "what do I have to share in return ? "

3)If you start a topic, don't just ask a question and then comment with one line posts and/or leave.
If you are truly interested , there will be members to help, but then come up with facts, sources etc.. and have some knowledge about your subject. If you just ask a picture for the sake of asking , and ask ten other questions the same day ,what's the use? Helpful mebers may grow weary and will start avoidig your postings.

4)The stump is here for fun and debates. If you are a Stump and/or free fire threads affectionado only , then you may ask yourself what the hell you are doing on a WW2 site. Go there at will ,but not ONLY there.

5)Do not quote with pictures : this pollutes the forum. if you need to quote a post, quote the text only.

    6) No stupid jokes and highjacking in serious threads. ( the orbituary section for example). If you have been part of a nice thread for weeks and joke about, it's fine, but if you jump in with some silly video as a first contribution, Keep out and start your own thread. There are joke threads on the forum too by the way . Of course humor is more than welcome, but combined with knowledge.

    7) If you do go to the stump, accept that other members have other opinions, so avoid the "my country is the best" crap . Go to your local pub for that.
Your media is not gospel ,check other sources too, you'll be suprised.

    8) If you want to make a point : give an opinion, don't be affirmative with sentences like "X is wrong again". if you have no evidence. Opinions are not evidence.

9)There is no race to post 100 postings a day , if you like races, watch TV or jog. Coffee spilling contests are fine too.

10)If you start a debate , accept and expect to be challenged. The fact that some members do not agree with you, does not mean the entire forum does not agree. They have better things to do and do not want to take part.

Some of you have recieved private messages about these points. Now we'll watch whether things improve . Enjoy the forum .

Oh I like this post. Especially this part.

Would be nice if the entire post wasn't quoted as well. Just quote the part you are talking about. Like I just did with this quote. Though just not quoting the picture over and over again will be a huge plus.

And if, for some reason, the entire post does need to be quoted, you can easily edit the picture(s) out of the quote.

Cheers gentlemen, I thought that for a change it would be nice to start the thread in the frre fire section, after all that's what it's made for. I'm glad I did, since members can learn from each other's tips too now.

There are times I need the wakeup call, and IMO I'm not the only one that needs them on occasion. That said at least the first attempt or two should be "genlte" again IMO.

I like these points. Are there any real rules and guidelines for this site, or did I just miss them when I joined? If no such regulations exist yet,Skipper's post would serve as a good basis for them.
