Can anyone recommend one? I love tanks, but am not particularly knowledgeable beyond the more obvious models.
There's a few on Amazon, I was just wondering if anyone knows of a good one. Thanks in advance.

that is a good question, but at least you must be more specific,
    do you like modern?
    russian?
    american?
    british?
    french?
    or you like WW II?
    soviet?
    british?
    german?
    american?
there is one i have that perhaps can help you a little bit.
it is Tank vs Tanks, the illustrated story of armored battlefield conflict in the twentieth century by Kenneth Macksey

I'd second that as a good start. Especially if you're really a beginner.

Sorry, I thought it was only WW2 on here.
But yes, WW2 and not a Janes type or anything. I just need to brush up more on the variants and more obscure models.
Cheers for the recommendation. I'll see if I can find it.

A good start is 'British and American Tanks of WW2' by Chamberlain & Ellis. It covers pretty much every design actually built by Britain, America and the Commonwealth, including protypes and all the varients of the vehicles.

    I'd add:
"German Tanks of WWII" by Drs S & R Hart and
"Russian tanks of WWII" by Tim bean and Will Fowler

These three books seem to be fairly complete and accurate.
