A half-track of the SdKfz 251 series (“Max”) towing Rommel’s caravan (“Moritz”) near Tobruk, 1941.
Half-Track SdKfz 251 was introduced by Nazi Germany and used by Romania, Germany & Hungary. Tank has one Maybach HL 42 6-cylinder petrol engine. The service period of this tank was 1939 - 1945.
Operational range was 300 km (186 mi) almost. And this tank can run up to speed 52.5 km/h (32.5 mph). Weight of the tank was almost 7.81 tonnes.
These are some of my favorites of the "light-skinned" vehicles. I have numerous shots of this one. One I like in particular is my Heinrich Hoffmann PK Press photo showing General der Kavallerie Eberhard von Mackensen is his command vehicle somewhere on the Eastern Front. He is in it along with a Sergeant and standing just outside of it is an Artillery Major. If I can find a way to start posting pics? ill do so.
