Consider Option A and Option B (it doesn't matter what they are) Option A is the option everyone chooses. You like Option A better than Option B. Option B is the option that few people choose. You still like Option B, just not as much as Option A. So the question is...should you choose Option A, the one you like better, or Option B, compromising quality for the sake of greater individuality?
It would depend on what the options are. I always choose quality of quantity and I choose individuality versus popularity. So, difficult to choose
Without some sort of context the two options (therefore the question) are utterly meaningless. I mean on the one hand option A might be 'eat McDonalds' and option B 'eat healthily.' Option A may be the more common choice but B has lots going for it other than 'individuality.' On the other hand if option A is 'complain because your soup was cold' and option B 'shoot the waiter in the face' no level of 'individuality' can justify option B. So no, it doesn't make sense. That said, when it comes to 'individuality' I would say that it was important to remember not to discount alternatives just because everyone else does.
Popularity has little (if anything) to do with my decision, or it's not a decision. It's being a sheep. go along to get along. Choose what's right for you, in that place/situation, and at that time. This does not make it your/my permanent choice. A day or even an hour later things could change. As was said, we need some context, or the question is too vague to answer.
Never heard of option B so I would go with option A because I have heard of it and it has a good reputation.
