age of moderators in this forum?

I'm tipping you're a smart 16-17 year old. No offense if you're older.

 

For those who doesn't already know, I'd be interested in learning how old I come across as.

I'm joking, of course! Your posts are always informative and interesting, and from that I cannot determine age.

 

I always imagined you to be a university student of around 25 or so.

 

But we can determine his looks!

 

I figured them to be kids..

I think of Christian as older, 30-something.

Between millions of years, as per Zhukov, to a negative age, as per The Governator, I guess the challenge was a bit too tough

Panzerman came closest, though - I'm 22 (and while I'm not actually a full-time university student, I do have part-time university studies besides my full-time job).

I don't look quite like the photograph Panzerman posted (to the best of my knowledge, I have had no major mechanical parts inserted), however I will strike down on incorrect equipment names with great vigilance...

 

Six words: I'm doomed because of my age. I'm surrounded by people who are at least 8 years older than me! Maybe I should back out of this forum before it's too late?

 

No, don't do that. But if you'll take a word of advice from someone considerably older than you, try to learn to see things in shades of grey as well as only in black and white. Its not easy but it really widens your viewpoint on the world.

Oh, and try to cultivate a healthy level of cynicism and insanity. It makes the world so much easier to cope with!

I thought many of you were older than you in fact are, but please take this as a compliment. For the same reason I thought you were older I'm afraid many of you would think that I'm younger than I am.

Regardless I am in fact a very smart 19 year old
modest too...

 

I agree with Ossian, stick around. They're a good knowledgable bunch on here, with a broad knowledge base and it'll be rare that someone doesn't have an answer to your question.

That said, never be afraid to question someone's point of view, nobody is infallible, and the nature of a good healthy debate requires people to question the assertions of others. It'll happen to you as well, just don't take it personally when it does, there are some on here (Including myself occassionally), who will argue a line that they don't even necessarily agree with in order to stimulate debate.

Try to approach everything with an open mind, and as Ossian said, be prepared to see History increasingly in shades of Grey rather than strictly black and white.
