The thing is, Columbia won't allow military recruiters on their campus, yet will invite this guy to come and run his mouth. Some free speech.

Well Corpcasselbury, It's a bit like a recent Ecudorean demand on US:smok:
US wants to keep their military airbase there but won't allow Ecuadorean airbase in Miami (Ecuador's president's condition to renew the lease agreament for US airbase that expires in 2009) :D :D :D

Actually Tiso does bring up a good point, I personally wouldnt mind a small foreign ally base with in my country for them to train. I know that some country's send there young and promising soldiers to be trained in the US, such as Brazil.

Not to train in the US, but Ecuadorian airbase ( like Rammstein in Germany...)

Bush should call his bluff and grant him a lease for an airbase in Miami. Of course it should be like the leases granted to the US with substantial ease payments and requirements that they grant contracts to local companies for things like food service, security, maintenance etc.
The leftist Ecuadorian president doesn't really want, and couldn't really afford, to maintain an airbase in the US. It's just a red herring.

lol , great idea greig , the cost of an air base in the usa (which they would of course have to build , just like we do ,from scratch) and maintenance ,logistic support ect for one year would no doubt exceed the entire equadorian military budget for the last 2 or 3 decades .
