    Hi

This story is about three American soldiers and four German soldiers who shared Christmas Eve 1944 with a German woman during the Battle of the Bulge.

    All soldiers were lost and
looking for a place to stay and warm up.

The woman insisted that all soldiers disarm and that
"this was Christmas and there would be no killing on this night."

    Enjoy

Very nice story. They were all very brave to let their humanity show that night.

I could swear I've seen this in a movie?! Sadly it did not end the way the linked story did.

Think I remember a similar movie. Set in winter of the western front I think.

Interesting to hear these compassion stories.

While thinking about this, there is an excellent painting done by one of my all-time most favorite Artists--Don Stivors. This man is better known for his American Civil War paintings which all are great ones, but he's branching out into WWII, Korea and Modern. Anyway, one of his paintings he did was at the Battle of the Bulge and it shows German and American Medics, Doctors and such, helping each other out. You should be able to see it at: www.donstivors.com. If not, just google his name and you will find his web site.
