    "Soldiers captured by the Chinese during ancient wars may have been kept as slaves and tortured before being ritually sacrificed.
    That's according to a study of the chemical composition of the remains of people found at a burial ground at Yinxu, belonging to the Shang dynasty.
    The findings suggest that the victims killed were not locals but had been put to work in the area for a number of years, existing on a meagre diet.
    Oracle bone inscriptions from Yinxu had suggested that many sacrificial victims were captives from wars, and this is the direct archaeological evidence to support this."

    Anything I have read about (WWII Nationalist) Chinese Army, says they took no prisoners. Just killed them all on the spot. Of course, anything is possible...
