Hope I don't get flamed for my affiliation, but here goes. I just started into re-enacting at the urging of some friends (who will remain nameless) and love the hobby! I used to be a Coastie way back in the day, but like the infantry impression enough to stick with it. Already been to one battle so far, and can't wait until Spring when more events come up!!

Hardly the case here (getting flamed). Aside from that, I take it you are re-enacting as part of a group doing the 36th (Texas NG) Infantry Division from your log in and topic title. As my father was in that division during the war I certainly cannot complain.
I also have alot of the division's post war association newsletters, historical journals, etc.

Some other people on this forum from Indianapolis don't think too highly of the 36th ID. There happens to be some bad blood between members and FORMER members. Some people just can't seem to let bygones be bygones.

Anyway, I do love the hobby!!
