In 1935, at the early age of 38, Mr. Anthony Eden became Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, after a meteoric rise in political life. He resigned in 1938 as he differed from the then Government policy, but became Dominions Secretary when the Cabinet was reformed at the outbreak of war.
