I have only seen a few re-enactors around here do it. Basically they do the British assault on Fort Conde' (the French garrison at the City of Mobile, AL). I think that was in 1759 but not sure.

Mackinaw is free except the tour of the forts. Bluejacket is expensive but worth it, based on the Revolutionary War I think, the Colonists fight with the Shawnee, we won but they get all the money at the casinos.
There are a couple of re-enactments at Old Fort Niagra in Youngstown, NY. That is in the Buffalo area. This was originally a French garrison that was assaulted by the British at the confluence of the Niagra River and Lake Ontario.
French and Indian Wars massacre I saw a platoon of "Continental" soldiers doing drills at Fort George in New York State last year and they were an established group with links to British re-enactment groups. This was were the French allowed the Indians to massacre surrendered British troops and civilians back in the French and Indian War. Our little party of Brits nearly got massacred, too, since I had the temerity to complain about the quality of the food in a restaurant and the owner called the town sheriff, who, arriving by cycle in a skin tight Lycra uniform, put his hand on my shoulder and said " Son, if I were you, I never would have brought my family to eat at this place " ! I wouldn't mind, but he was about 22 and I am 59 !!! It ended well, though, since I complained to my credit card company, who, upon investigating, found that the restaurant was using the credit card facilities of a bondage clothing and sex toy shop and was merely a front for enabling the Mafia to laundry money !! Hey ho ! The delights of holidaying abroad............this year I'm returning to Frinton !! BG
Here in Indiana, there is old Fort Vincennes, established 1732 as a French fur-trading post. It is the oldest city in our state. George Rogers Clark won fame in capturing the fort--Ft. Sackville to the British--in 1779, and I believe they still hold re-enactments and dress in period-garb each summer. I'm told it's quite a colorful gathering. On the Banks of the Wabash far away... I'll try to find out something. Not sure they still do it. The fort is actually a partial reconstruction that was made when the DOT decided to run I-10 through Mobile. They came upon the archeaoligical site and the City decided to build part of the fort as a tourist/welcome center. The I-10 tunnel goes under the fort. http://www.museumofmobile.com/html/other_museums.php http://legvi.tripod.com/pompeiidiesprov ... /id23.html
Rogers Rangers There was a 1940 film I remember starring Spencer Tracy called Northwest Passage, about Major Rogers Rangers attacking a French/Indian fort. Great film, see it if you can.
Yep, great film. If you can get past the sappy love stories, Last of the Mohicans is a good F&I War movie as well.
