The M114 I could understand, but I thought the M551 was a fairly common vehicle.

Yes, talking about the one immediately under under the comment, not the Sheridan.

That is a great reference. Lots of good picture links too.
It looks like they did move a bunch of stuff up to Fort Lee after all, including the Elephant from Aberdeen.

Still would like to know where the soft top M26 Dragon Wagon from Aberdeen ended up. It's not at Fort Benning and doesn't seem to be listed in that document.

Hello guys ! I am new here but I have a burning question: What unit is the dogs's head in a shield on that Stug 3 G?, maybe history on that vehicle? The vehicle was formally at the Patton Museum, unrestored , and not repainted. It was one of the vehicles featured in the book:WALK AROUND Sturmgeschutz III Ausf. G by Squadron/Signal publications, ISBN 0-89747-434-1. It had a red outlined Balkenkruze and the dog /shield is red and white. the pics that were posted, were a re-painted vehicle, and the muffles are almost gone.

Going solely from your description, a guess would be Sturmgeschütz-Abteilung 261 but I believe this unit fought exclusively on the eastern front.
