    Hello Guys,

I think this question have been asked b4...

I would like to know if there were any Asiatic wehrmacht / SS soldats during WW2.

What I mean is that there were many Ost battalions and asiatic Russian soldats, the ones I am looking for are those asiatics that have a distinct " Chinese Asian " look and features.I think the Turkestan Legion had some.

I also would like to know what Ost, asiatic soldats fought on D-Day besides those 3 " Koreans " caught by the US.

Any one has any good leads, websites, pics of them asiatic soldiers, pls share with me.

    Best Regards

We did discuss this in other threads, but no one was able to pin down any solid information. Here is what we have established so far:

It seems that some asian soldiers were captured by the Allies in Normandy. The origins of these soldiers is speculative at best, I have heard Korean, Tibetan Buddist Monks, Japanese, etc. Unfortunately none of this is substantiated and I'm looking for anything to confirm or deny this. If you do hear anything let me know, I'd love to do some research and produce a report on this possible incident.

Here is our original thread about the topic:

    Hi Everyone,

The below two pics is from a book entitled “ D-Day,
From the normandy Beaches to the liberation of France
“ By Tiger Publications. It’s not written by an author
as I think it’s some educational book for those
    interested in history.

My question is that I believe that the heer soldats
squatting down in the first pic and the POW heer
soldat in the second pic are of asiatic origin.

Has any one seen these pics before?? If yes, could you
pls give me a description of the pics?? Eg. Date??
Place?? Any vague or detailed information is greatly
    appreciated.

One more thing, I believe that the heer soldats
squatting down in the 1st pic are the three much
debated “ Korean “ soldiers captured by the US troops
    during D-Day. I recalled Ambrose’s ( spelling ?? )
book stating that. Any further info is appreciated
    too.

Please visit the following webpage I created
    to view the pics
    : http://alvinlee_81.homestead.com/ExtraStuff.html

I also look forward if anyone could lead me to a
website or show me pics of Asiatic soldiers.

    Thanks

PS : to Otto, I think the pics might answer your doubts about the Koreans soldats....
