Austerlitz anniversary

    Today is the 200th anniversary of the famous battle of Austerlitz.
    There seems to be some bigger reenactement going on on the historical site:

    This year Napoléon was played by an american from Virginia.
    He's 36 years old, so he even has exactly the same age Napoléon had at Austerlitz....

    Is that John Cusack? :D

    I am really amazed by the detail with which these reenactors have dressed themselves. I didn't notice that this wasn't "actual" or film footage until I saw a guy in modern clothing standing next to some horsemen.

    On another forum that I frequent, a Polish re enactor Jan Gradon took a photo of the spectators, he said that there was 30 000 tickets sold but there were far more people than that there behind the trees and even in them.

    There was between 4000 and 5000 re enactors there, which would make it possibly the second biggest reconstruction of a battle in the world, the first being Gettysburg.
