    Hello all
How precisely, did the automatic loaders work on the russian T55/62's as i would be interested to find out, cos,I heard a great story recently about soviet tank commanders and gunners losing limbs due to them not keeping out of the way of the automatic loader, which would,if great care was not taken, grab an arm and shove it into the breech, which would then slam shut! ouch!!
Could there be an element of truth in this,or is it just a myth? :-?

Just for the ones interested, the Merkava 4 also uses an automatic loader. but its slightly different than the loaders in the Russian T-xx tanks:

    (Its at the 'firepower' part)
