I was looking through my stack of newspapers from 1944 and ran across these photos.

    Enjoy.

Great photos, but may I ask what you are doing with 1944 newspapers? My wife won't let me keep last week's newspaper.:D

My step dad was redoing a house in town and found all of these newspapers under the floors. Told me he was going to throw them out. That is how I ended up with them. The photo in some of them are amazing, just a pain in the a** to scan.......

I have a VERY fragile page from an Australian weekly 'newspaper' dated 6th Dec 1941.

It is an article headlined, "Why japan will not enter the war".

I built a large model of a B-24 when I was a boy and one of the color schemes shown in the directions was sorta like that one, big mouth and multi-colored dots. Of couse, I opted for the combat-ready version. I think it is still in my mom's attic.

No need to damage something like that. National Library of Australia has been scanning newspapers dating back to 1803:

    NLA Australian Newspapers

Some amazing stories to be had on events in the ETO from a "down under" perspective. Just pick a date and run with it!

Use a camera instead. I use a 10 megapixel camera for 48"x48" maps. Works like a charm.

My camera is only a 5 megapixel and it doesn`t do very well on close up things.
