B-24 Shot Down over the Caroline Islands

    I've seen this video almost all of my life and assumed that it occured in the ETO or the MTO, because it usually was shown during documentaries about those theaters of combat.

    Upon watchig the video, it actually occured in the Caroline Islands in the PTO.

    Does anyone have any additional information about the raid, the plane or if any of the crew survived? Can anyone determine the bomb group or squadron?
