Can someone give me some information on the B-25 please? Mainly, how they were used and info/pictures of variant models, please? I don't think they were employed as high altitude bombers, were they? Didn't one variant have a 75mm gun under the port wing? Anyhow, I appreciate the info. Thank you.
Your right Hummel ... They were employed as a medium level bomber, made famous by the "Doolittle Raids". Afterward they where primarily used on 'tree top' strafing and para-frag missions against airfields in the South West Pacific Theater. Due to a need for heavy strafing aircraft a version dubbed the B-25G was developed which was armed with two .50 MG's and a 75mm M4 cannon (one of the largest weapons fitted to an aircraft.)
