Quite an unusual relic find at a local garage sale. This guy from Corsica held this B-26 Marauder Glenn martin Engine tag. He got it from his grandfather who picked this up from a crash site in Corsica which happened on November 21st 1943. Apparently it was an accident . The early versions of the B-26 were quite hard to master and several aircraft crashed , especially in 1943 and 1944 until the problems could be solved.

I remember that about the 26..the Widowmaker...something about the wings...now that you mention it, I'm surprised there are not more tags like this...they should've been on quite a number of items, no?...very good here..I take it the engine tag says Jan 43 and accident was November...why no serial number though???
