Dreadfully self indulgent I know but can't conceal my joy at having finally secured a copy of this at a very reasonable price. Many dealers are asking £200-250 for a copy.

Published by Karl Baedeker, Leipzig, this 4.25" x 6.25" book has 528 pages.

This was effectively a special edition for visitors to Germany for the Berlin Olympic Games.

Two folded maps in the map pocket at rear: the Reichssportfeld plan of the Olympic Stadium for the 1936 Olympics and the two-sided color map - Deutsches Reich Strassenkarte.

    Hi Wot,
I just came accross this interesting website and this is my first post...actually a question.
I was searching Baedeker 1936 Germany and came to YOUR post. I just obtained a nice copy of this book without the Reichssporstsfeld map and was wondering if you knew where to obtain one.
I have a map in a different form but would like to obtain the one that goes in the Baedeker. Are you still posting?
Thanks to Otto and to all members for what I hope will be interesting WWII discussions. My father was a Navy aircrewman (Avenger/Leyte/etc.) and I look forward to further conversations.
    Tom

Still waiting to hear from Wot but I paid about $130 US on eBay.
You can find them on a website with old Baedekers by searching (as I did) "baedeker germany 1936". They have access to many old books, prices, and lists of all Baedeker editions. I can't remember the exact website.
I think that I got mine cheap but who knows.
