Hi as you may or may not know there is a book based on the HBO drama series "Band Of Brothers". I was just wondering if anyone here has read it and does it give more detail than the tv version? Also if it is an interesting read as im not a enthusiastic reader i just found the series so gripping.

    Thanks in advance.

The book is much better than the TV show and it helps fill in some of the inaccuracies of the show

I've got it, and yes - it's well worth the read. So are all the other 101st books by Ambrose, 'Citizen Soldiers' is absolutely bang on the button.

Read his book 'D_Day' too, well worth the slog.

To add one more bit- Ambrose is one of the most easily-readable WW2 authors around. Definite page-turners.

Just to point out that the series was based on the book.

I read the book after I saw the show. ....maybe that is why I am not enamoured with "The Pacific"; because I read the books and then watched the show.
