Hi Everybody, With this years anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge upon us, I recently spent some time exploring the Ardenne. I have made a video of each day there with my friend Lawrence and below is the first one. I hope you may find it of some interest. In it we explore the Bois Jacques woods where Easy Company were positioned to help hold Bastogne’s perimeter during the Battle of the Bulge and whilst there we also take a quick look at the village of Foy which the 101st liberated in January 1945. Following that we visit the 101st Airborne Headquarters at Heintz Barracks (or Bastogne Barracks) which was the nerve centre of Bastogne’s defence during the siege. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9zMLVpzu8Q I hope this is of interest and I hope you have a great weekend! Ross
Ross, your videos are always well done and more that interesting. I Last visited the Bois Jacques two decades back into the 20th , century ( 1978) ,trees were smaller and it was in August ! But it was before the Internet and either the restoration center was not yet in existence or I did not know about it. Looks like a fine facility. DId fine left over armor from both sides dotted about the Ardennes in a poor state of repair. Martin Bull is very familiar with the area and in restoration sh he should be able to comment far better than I. I look forward to future post and videos & many thanks, Gaines
Well done fellas. I visited over a decade ago and didn't see half of what you were able to take in. Great memories.
Thank you very much indeed everybody. As always absolutely I am delighted you enjoy watching. Merry Christmas!
Evening Again. Just a quick note to say here is the follow up video to the one above. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eoo5VIO0KeI Thanks! Ross
