Made curious by the link I got from Tiornu I wondered if the ships involved fired at eachother, or if it was just air attacks. I see both the Houston and De Ruyter as well as the Japanese cruisers Nachi and Haguro were present, later to meet again in the Battle of the Java Sea.

Thanks, allthough I despise Wikipedia (but that's not your fault, mate ;) ). I have much more trust in the knowledge of people like the members of this forum.

The nicest thing about wikipedia is that the info of wars like this naval battle is mainly written by "freaks" like us who now a lot of it and verified their info.
Wikipedia can only not be trusted for recent info and info like hitler where pro's and contra try to proove that he was evil or good. Some for Bill gates, Stalin, Mao, the Palestine isrealic conflict in general, Hamas,..... that sort of things

I agree. But in some cases, allthough probably not in this case, the article is translated from English or German by someone who have the linguistic skills, but not the factual knowledge about what the article is about. This is especially true about Norwegian Wikipedia, and more than a few facts have been lost in translation, and some new added.
