I wonder if any of our UK members saw the excellent programme of this name on BBC2 last night? It was presented by veteran BBC front man Peter Snow, and his son Dan, a military historian. It was one of the best WW2 programmes I have seen in a long while, and gave a good account of Alamein using 'talking head' veteran accounts with actors in uniform speaking the parts, looked at the problem of mine clearing, drove around in a Sherman, and used state of the art computer graphics to explain events. I hope it's the start of a series! There is no follow up on the BBC website as yet, except an article by Richard Holmes at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/war/wwtwo/el_alamein1.shtml However, there is a description of the programme at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctwo/listings/programme.shtml?day=today&service_id=4224&filename=20021018/20021018_2100_4224_13462_60
The BBC have just posted a page for this programme on their site at: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/2336739.stm
