Beside the fickleness of the gas as weapons and the adamant and repeated refusal of Hitler to use them ,
I have no doubt that its massive use on the easter front would have severely handicapped the soviets , quite possibly costing them victory ,in the center the pace of advance was to fast in 41 to make it of much use , but it would have crucified the Leningrad , Sevastopol and Stalingrad defenders

As for reprisal , I doubt very much if Britain would have come out on top in a gas war ,
the modern German gases were more deadly by an order of magnitude that the mustard gas of the western allied , the British would have probably escalated by using their pre-prepared stocks of anthrax :-? :-? :-?

P.S. in 1942 the Australian Army asked for volunteers , plenty of would be heroes ( suckers ) got used as guinea pigs to check the effectiveness of the stocks of mustard gas in jungle environment and made to run and maneuver covered with blisters with their skin peeling off ,
of course soldiers only had this glory , officers satisfied themselves with watching .... BASTARDS
