I alwasy find it harder to distinguish the different modern SP guns than the tanks. Here is how I would rate them

    1. Crusader
How can the US congress turn down a SP gun that fires farther and faster than any other SP guns?? Also, no other SP guns can claim that it can fire up to 8 rounds and land on a single target at the same time!!!
Specification: 155mm gun, full auto ammo handling and firing, max 10 rounds/min, range excess of 25 miles, first round can be fired in 15-30 seconds

    2. AS90
Having already proved its combat worthiness in the 2 Gulf conflicts, this machine has advanced firing control and auto-loading system allows it to fire with a burst rate of 3 rounds in 10 seconds, and intense rate of 6 rounds per minute and a sustained rate of 2 rounds per minute.
Specification: 155mm, range 15.5 miles with 39-calibre gun, or 25 miles with 52-calibre gun.

    3. PZH2000
Probably the most advanced western allied SP gun in service, it incorporates advanced firing control system and automation

    4. M109A6 Paladin (155mm)s
Since the Crusader was turned down, this currently remains the front line SP gun for the US army. Although inferior (and cheaper) to the crusader, still a formidable and adanced weapon system.
    Specifications: 155mm, range 19miles, max 4 rounds/min

    5. 2S3-M1973
The most modern Russian SP gun to date, definitely inferior by western standards in terms of firing control and navigational systems.
Specification: 152mm, range 10.75 - 18.75 miles depends on ammo.

    6. AUF-1
By mounting a large 155mm howitzer platform on the obsolete AMX-30 Chassis, you have created probably the uglies SP gun today. But its lethality is without question, automatic loading and firing system enables an impressive rate of 6 shots in 45 seconds and 12 shots in 2 minutes.
Specification: 155mm, range 14.5 to 18.7 miles depends on ammo.

That, old boy, is an educated list.

That is a good question, I guess the right hands were not greased?
