Hello all... Just to let you know, Wal-Mart is selling the Band of Brothers DVD set for about $85. That's about $35-$40 off the normal retail price!
Thats good to know and I just thought I would let you know that I tried sending you the emails with all of my American addresses on them but for some reason--the emails bounced back to me as undeliverable. Ive been having a lot of trouble sending replies by email these last few days--i'll try again in a few.
Well, if you have a fast internet connection and want to let "Comrade Computer" working nightshifts for you, you might be able to rip the DVD's episode by episode for free out of the worldwideweb...if that wouldn't be illegal, of course! ("Currahee" approx. 700 MB, the others 300-600 MB each) Cheers, [ 30. November 2002, 04:22 PM: Message edited by: AndyW ]
Well--lastnight I just watched my first full episode of BoB, and I thought it was very well done. Looking forward to watching at least two more episodes tonight.
The DVDs are great. I got it the first day it was out and have watched it non-stop. The extras are the best . Jet
Ive watched 6 episodes so far--liking them all fairly-well. Ill be watching episodes 7-8 tonight. I can hardly await to see the ones where they "took" Bertchesgaden.
The whole series is phenominal... I'm not sure if you have the actual DVD boxset, but if you do, be sure to watch disc 6, which is full of special features...they're amazing. IL DUCE
I agree--and especially the Bertchesgaden scenes. My ex-platooon sergeant friend said he stayed at the former Berghof during the 1970s as it was a U.S.Army receration center at that time.
I really enjoyed the whole "making of" mini documentary. Almost as much as I enjoyed the documentary with the men from easy company. It's hard to believe that just a few months after that was shot some of those men were gone... IL DUCE
I hadnt watched the Doc disk yet--forgot to do so as I been catching up on Classical War movies being played on TCM. Get this: Just from the time I lucked out and had the TV on--they played The Story Of G.I.Joe with Robert Mitcham as the Lt/Capt and Burgess Meridith as the famed War Correspondant Ernie Pyle. They Battleground was played. This morning they had Objective Burma and two nights ago they played Sergeant York with gary Cooper as the famed Medal of Honor Recipient from The Valley of the Twin Forks (Back in the hills of Tennessee)
