NBC news showed a picture of the scorched entrance of the JFK library and it has not been determined if it was an electrical fire or 'bomb'. Being as it was at the entrance and looks to be outside the building I'd guess it was an explosion. And again we wait.

ABC News reported about the explosions. A former FBI agent speculated that the explosions were more reminiscent of a localized home-grown organization. The timing, between April 15 and 20, seems to point in that direction. I guess we'll see.

First thought NK had done something, seeing how they talked about attack last weekend, and today they celebrate the glorious leaders 100th bday....The Post says a Saudi national is being held. Post also says 10 dead, others say 3...Here we go with the wild reports/guesses again.

The last I saw the JFK was an electrical fire, not a bomb.

2 dead, 100 wounded at this point.

With regards to the JFK Library, no explosion was reported by eyewitnesses/employees, only that the fire alarm went off. Apparently the fire began in a mechanical room and is not related to the earlier explosions. It was first reported as an explosions, but is becoming more and more as if it was a ill-timed electrical fire.

As to the "Saudi National", seems that only the NY Post is reporting this. All others lead right back to the Post as the "source."
I'll wait till I see some reports coming out of Boston on this.

Don't think we can comment too much apart from what we see on tv I suppose...but latest I heard was first one was in trash bin...packed with ball barings....Shades of Ireland to us over here...Not implying anything. Probably going to be a local issue, but thats the sort of thing we lived with over the pond for a generation. And a kid too...Obviously aimed to cause as much carnage as possible to as many as possible...not to vip's but to ordinary folk. Its not wise to underestimate any enemy...IRA and Taliban etc are not exactly cowards...but this bombing is cowardly and outrageous as to its targetting and makeup.

Would also like to point out the Canadian Flag above. Synchronicity. Terrible synchronicity. A road mark in our history. Time to evolve.

It's being confirmed by a number of sources that a 20 year old Saudi national is being held as a "person of interest" in one of the hospitals. He's badly burned and that particular hospital is surrounded by federal police rather than Boston or Mass cops.

My thoughts are with those who suffered from this tragic event. A Marathon should be a moment of peace among all the peoples , not death and sorrow. I hope the nutter who did this will be found and sentended.

That rumour has been quashed. According to latest reports, there are no persons-of-interest being held at any of the hospitals. Two devices went off within seconds of each other. A third device was detonated by the police and a fourth was disarmed.
