brazil fought in ww2, all those old movies never give brazil a mention, even though they fought well and took over 20,000 german prisoners! history does not lie, but movies do !
Not to say that "historical" movies don't lie but leaving out the Brazilian participation doesn't necessarily count as one. Just like the Mexican fighter squadraon that saw combat in the Pacific is often not mentioned. In most cases they are simply irrelevant to the topic the movieis covering.
Saw the title and the user name and thought this was a different topic! I know military haircuts were "short back and sides", thought that might be a connection.....
There's already a couple of threads hanging about with some info about Brazil's involvement. http://www.ww2f.com/italy-sicily-greece/46042-brazil-war.html http://www.ww2f.com/italy-sicily-greece/32234-brazilian-troops-italy.html http://www.ww2f.com/wwii-books-publications/34553-new-online-brazilian-participation-wwii.html As for films, perhaps one day some Brazilian film company will make just such a movie. I don't believe it reasonable to expect an American, British, or other film company to produce a film their target audience will not watch.
I actually think I may have seen a movie where they were mentioned at least in passing. Perhaps A Walk in the Sun. Could be wrong about it though.
... and it would have involved a Marine. But, seriously, many countries did fight during WW2. As has been said, it is understandable that attention is paid primarily to the main participants.
