Anyone by chance have this movie that they would be able to burn onto a DVD that could be played in the US? It was always one of my favorite movies and have had no luck finding it on DVD. The flood of 2007 ruined my VHS copy along with every episode of Combat! on VHS  Have since replaced the Combat! shows with DVD`s but no luck on Breakthrough.
I don't have a copy of the movie and it has not been released--to the best of my knowledge--on DvD yet. However, you might consider doing what I did in finding a great movie-I looked on Amazon and found a region 2 VHS copy of Dunkirk-sent it to a friend who made me two DvD copies of it-one of which I gave to a friend here. Sorry to hear about the flood and your losses.
PzJgr, I live in northern Richland County, close to Crawford County. Biggest city nearby is Mansfield. I attached a photo on here of the flood. Coast Guard had to rescue a few people. That is a good idea Carl. Does a region 2 play in the US or does it have to be converted to a region 1? I know the movie is pure fiction but Robert Mitchum and Richard Burton are 2 of my favorite actors.
Hi 36th, im not sure what my friend used to play Dunkirk on but the guy used to run an electronic store for around 20 years and is now retired. He always buys top of the line electronics and he told me that when he bought the tape and dvd recorder-player he has, that he paid $2,000 for it. He also said that if you want one that does almost as well as his does-that you have to go for one that costs no less than $500.00. Same here, im a fan of Mitchum, Burton and Curt Jurgens-who was also in the movie. Also, Klaus Lowitsch and the other Steiner platoon survivor-the radioman-were in the sequal and both were killed in it. I didn't think the movie was a stinker-mostly because of the stars they had in it b ut, I hated that the guy who played Captain Stransky-was not Maximilian Schell-who did so in Cross of Iron.
You're not too far from me. I can mail you my VHS movie and you can get it burned onto DVD. If interested, send me a PM. I'm in Painesville on the other side of Cleveland from you.
I know this is an old thread, but I was curious if anyone found a dvd copy of this? I work with a guy who lost his VHS copy and has been trying to obtain a dvd version. Did anyone have any luck or be able to point me in the direction of finding a dvd copy? any help would be great.
There is now a DvD available but i THINK only because someone is burning copies from VHS to DvD? Anyway, ill have to find the link Ray sent to me that I found it at but, beware, this may NOT be a very good copy. Also, I cant remember if I saw it on Belle & Blade or not? You might try them as they have lots of stuff on DvD that is not mass produced. I.e, I THINK that movie along with most of what they sell? fall into the Public Domain catagory--meaning that anyone can make and sell copies of these movies. Also, belle and blade sells lots of studio released stuff, howevr, everything at belle and blade is more expensive than you will pay anywhere i have seen.
