I shall, having been along, have to correct you Quillin! We saw a Panzer IV, not a V. You know the one with the load of tiny wheels ;)
I never thought you took so many pictures ricky! I'm looking forward to them already. Good luck with sorting them!

Okay, so, what to do with this topic? Use it to plan the next trip, although it could be that it's not going to be Brussels? Or, start a new topic for the new trip?

Good news to you all. The Brussel army museum has a new wing that is dealing with WW2. (Roel, PanzerProfile and Ricky, it looks like the WW1 wing)
It covers the area 1940 -1944, both western as Eastern front. It has guns, uniforms, kanons, models (including a bunker on the Atlantik Wall), etc.

    So, how about visiting it?

    I'm up for that. When?

Ricky should be there, he owes us a long rant about Medieval weaponry.

Well, what do we say about first weekend of august? Most change of some good weather when we are eating our waffles in the park :D

But choosing the date is more for Ricky, since he has to travel the farest + he's our guide in the medieval hall

Actually I was thinking we could do this one weekend in spring? There will be smaller crowds, usually the weather is just as good, and it's sooner! :D

Maybe you guys have a weekend in May somewhere that we could use?

After careful consideration, and completely ignoring what everyone posted when I asked for it ;) , I've decided to tag along when possible.
So, is there any date yet, and are there any preparations I should make?
Preparations are not to include; buying waffles for Ricky, improving my historical knowledge, remembering the date, paying anyone or anything involving hamsters.
I have already done those things.

it's always hard to find a proper date for everyone. But it worked out last year, and hey, it was a great succes!

CSP, ofcourse you are most welcome to join us on the trip if you're able to. It'd be a lot of fun!

Sorry to but in for a moment...

Since a couple of non-Belgians seem interested to take part, may I suggest something.

For some of you it will not be a 1-day trip so why not combine some opportunities. As sunday august 12th one of the vistor days of the Central depot is on (see topic : http://www.fun-online.sk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5522) make it a museum weekend.

So, visit the the Army museum on saturday and on sunday go to the depot.

If you can round-up enough people, I maybe can arrange something for a guided tour on saturday and sort out the administration for the sunday event.

If there is any other info, like for instance travel info or accomodation info, I can help also in that department.

hmm, a sort of a weekend trip. Sounds good enough for me. I just hope that my re-exam won't be in that week.
Oke fellow members, decide if August the 12th is a good date before the places in the reservation for the depot are all filled.

The way it looks now, I won't be in the country all summer. You should probably arrange this one without me, as much as I regret having to say this.

I'll be more official in my announcement of absence later on - I need to get things organized first.
