    say you had to build yourself an army using WW2 weapons...

    what would you chose..

    Why would you choose the Type 99 over the MG42?

    because the T-99 is a LMG and the MG42 is a GPMG

    Just to note you can have the best weapons and still lose a war.

    these 2 guns are more dangerous to the user than they are to the target.

    The MG42 weighed about 11,5 kilos, while the T-99 weighed 11.4 kilos. The difference in weight is therefore negligble, in my opinion. I think the MG42 is a better weapon.

    yes but The MG42 was a mulitpurpose weapon, the T-99 was designed for one role. The MG42 is a different class of weapon altogether.

    It can still take up the LMG slot, and should, as it is a better weapon.

    if you look again the next catagory below says GPMG/HMG so why put the MG42 in the LMG slot when it can go into its correct catagory

    I agree with Panzerman, it is a GPMG but also it was considered a LMG.

    Principal Rifle: M1 Garand
    Secondary Rifle-carbine: STG44
    Carbine-SMG: STEN
    Light MG-Support MG: MG42
    Heavy or GPMG: Browning M2HB
    Light Mortar: any 60mm
    Infanty AT rifle or launcher: Panzershreck or PIAT (superBazooka when available)
    Hand grenade: any that works well
