The Britsh Army have just deployed an AFV called the Bulldog to Iraq - the reasons given are that the armoured Landrovers are to vulnerable to rpgs and ieds whereas the Warrior is too big to and not quite mobile enough in some situations - this new vehicle falls somewhere between the two has been received with enthusiasm.

Edit - According to Wikipedia it's an updated version of the FV432 - if that's true it wouldn't be much smaller than a Warrior.

Nice article - good first hand comments.

All that extra armour on the sides widens it quite a bit and creates the illusion of it being lower.

Nice to hear that they've got the improvements right.
